2025-06-20 mode

Florence, vrijdag, 20 juni 2025.
The international men’s fashion exhibition Pitti Uomo 108 encountered significant challenges during its third trade fair day. Despite a promising 3% increase in foreign buyers, the trade fair was seriously disrupted by a transport strike, causing many visitors to leave early. Brand stands had heavily invested in spectacular presentations, from a Greek taverna setting by MC2 Saint Barth to a Roy Roger’s ice bar, which made the disappointing turnout even more painful. The exhibition, normally a crucial platform for international fashion trends, saw its dynamics impacted by unexpected logistical complications.

Transport Strike Disrupts Fashion Exhibition

The Pitti Uomo 108 fashion fair in Florence faced significant challenges due to a transport strike on Thursday. Despite a promising start with a 3 percent increase in foreign buyers, visitor numbers dropped drastically because of the strike-related issues [1][2]. The 740 participating brands, nearly half of which were international, had invested heavily in striking presentations [3].

Creative Brand Presentations

Exhibitors had developed spectacular presentation concepts. For instance, the brand MC2 Saint Barth transformed its stand into a complete Greek taverna with turquoise tables, live music, and dancers [1]. Roy Roger’s drew attention with a special ‘affogato’ ice bar, created in collaboration with the historic Florentine ice cream maker Vivoli [2].

International Participation

The fair welcomed 4,400 foreign buyers, while the number of Italian buyers remained stable [1][2]. Special guests included brands such as Post Archive Faction (PAF), Homme Plissé Issey Miyake, and Children of the Discordance, who presented their latest collections [4][5].
