Mango Revolutionises Textile Production with Groundbreaking Recycling Technology
Barcelona, vrijdag, 20 juni 2025.
In a strategic move towards more sustainable fashion, Mango has announced an innovative collaboration with Circulose, a pioneering technology company specialising in textile recycling. This unique partnership enables Mango to integrate recycled cotton into its production chain, thereby making a significant contribution to reducing the ecological footprint of the textile sector. The partnership aligns with Mango’s ambitious sustainability strategy to exclusively use low-environmental-impact fibres by 2030, marking a crucial development in the transition towards a more circular and responsible fashion industry.
Circulose: The Innovative Recycling Technology
Circulose is a groundbreaking technology that recovers cellulose from 100% recycled textile materials, replacing the use of new raw materials such as wood pulp or cotton [1][2]. The innovative material can be used for producing various fibres like viscose, lyocell, modal, and acetate, which can then be spun and processed into high-quality textile products [2].
Mango’s Sustainability Strategy
The collaboration with Circulose fits within Mango’s ambitious sustainability strategy for 2030, focusing on innovation and reducing environmental impact [1][3]. Andrés Fernández, Director of Sustainability and Procurement at Mango, emphasises that this partnership is a crucial step towards using exclusively low-environmental-impact fibres [2].
Future Perspective
Mango has already taken several steps in sustainable fashion, such as launching a first denim collection with circularity criteria in early 2023 [3]. By the end of 2024, nearly 30% of the Mango collection already incorporated circular design principles [3].
