Parijs, dinsdag, 27 mei 2025.
Canada Goose announces an ambitious strategy to strengthen its presence in the European market. The Canadian luxury fashion brand aims to expand its retail network to key fashion capitals, including Paris and Milan. This decision is part of a larger expansion strategy for 2025, focused on opening flagship stores in these cities. Although Canada Goose has faced disappointing results in Europe, particularly in the United Kingdom, its stores in Paris and Milan have performed well. Brand President Carrie Baker confirmed that these cities will now be the focus of their investments. This follows a slight increase in revenue from their global operations, despite challenges in other markets. Expanding into these fashion capitals is a crucial step for Canada Goose to restore and strengthen its market position in Europe.

Increasing focus on flagship stores

Canada Goose has confirmed that Milan and Paris are at the heart of its investment strategy for this year. This move follows trials of disappointing performance in parts of Europe, especially in the UK. However, the stores in these cities are performing well, strengthening the motivation to invest in flagship stores in these fashion capitals[1][2].

Revenue growth in global markets

In the past quarter, Canada Goose saw revenue growth of 7%, driven by strategic product launches such as their eyewear line. Despite declining sales figures in Europe, revenue grew globally by 1%. In North America and China, revenue growth amounted to 8%[1][2].

Challenges in the European market

The European market, particularly the UK, continues to pose challenges for Canada Goose. Revenue in Europe dropped from CAD282 million to CAD231 million, a significant decline partly attributed to difficult market conditions in the UK. Despite these challenges, the brand is focusing on expansion in Paris and Milan[1][2].

Investment strategy for sustainable growth

While the focus on direct consumer interaction continues to grow, Canada Goose is making progress by doubling its retail presence by 2028. This includes a 5% increase in direct sales revenue in the last fiscal year. Significant investments are also planned in design teams, particularly in Paris, to develop new product categories[1][3].
