Men's Fashion 2026: Creativity and Optimism Reclaim the Catwalk
Parijs, donderdag, 3 juli 2025.
The Paris men’s fashion scene for spring-summer 2026 has taken a surprising turn. After economic challenges, the fashion industry presented a collection of collections characterised by relaxed silhouettes, bold colours, and renewed energy. Alice Feillard from Galeries Lafayette emphasised the return of optimism and creativity, with brands like Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, and Dries Van Noten showcasing striking collections with rich colour palettes ranging from fuchsia to deep forest green. The most notable trend was the shift towards fluid tailoring, where tradition and modernity seamlessly merged, resulting in a ‘casual elegance’ that reinvigorated the fashion industry.
Colour Explosion on the Catwalk
The fashion world celebrated a return to optimism with exuberant colour palettes. Saint Laurent opened the week with violet, navy, orange, and moss green, while Pharrell Williams at Louis Vuitton introduced Indian motifs and hues [1]. Dries Van Noten surprised with bold fuchsia and blood red, and Kenzo filled the catwalk with candy pink, aqua blue, and chick yellow [2].
Fluid Silhouettes
Designers embraced a new aesthetic of ‘casual elegance’, characterised by fluid silhouettes and relaxed tailoring [3]. Wide-leg trousers, long coats, open shirts, and a continuing pyjama trend dominated the collections. Alice Feillard from Galeries Lafayette emphasised that tailoring remains ubiquitous, but now much more fluid and elegant [4].
Accessories and Details
Bags were prominently featured, ranging from clutches to shoulder bags, suitable for both casual and evening occasions. Notably, there was a return of slippers, seen at brands like Officine Generale, Auralee, and even Hermès, worn ‘almost in a formal manner’ [5].
