Porto, maandag, 23 juni 2025.
Portugal Fashion announces a radical transformation for its upcoming edition, replacing the traditional fashion calendar with a multidimensional technology experience. The event, taking place from 1 to 5 July 2025, will position itself as a national communication and innovation platform that seamlessly combines fashion, lifestyle, and technology. With a focus on emerging talent, digitalisation, and sustainability, Portugal Fashion aims to reposition Portuguese fashion internationally and create a dynamic hub for designers, industry, and entrepreneurship.
Strategic Repositioning of Portugal Fashion
The upcoming edition of Portugal Fashion will take place from 1 to 5 July 2025 and marks a significant transformation in the national fashion scene. The event will profile itself as a multidimensional platform that seamlessly integrates fashion, technology, and lifestyle [1]. Mónica Neto, director of Portugal Fashion, emphasises that this edition is not only celebrating the past but is primarily a statement of intent for the future [1].
Innovative Platform Features
The event will span multiple locations, including Porto, Douro, Famalicão, Matosinhos, and Gondomar, as part of a territorial decentralisation strategy [1]. Moreover, Portugal Fashion will present ten African designers under the CANEX platform and welcome three designers from Saudi Arabia for the first time, thereby strengthening its international positioning [1].
Focus on Emerging Talent and Innovation
The edition specifically focuses on emerging talent, designer creativity, digitalisation, and sustainability as pillars for internationalisation [1]. A new initiative is the first edition of the BLOOM incubator programme, which will support ten emerging brands with logistical support and specialised guidance [1].
Participating Designers
The event will feature fashion show presentations from renowned Portuguese designers such as Miguel Vieira, David Catalán, Pé de Chumbo, Estelita Mendonça, Hugo Costa, Maria Gambina, Susana Bettencourt, Nopin, and Achor. Special presentations will include the duo Marques’Almeida in the Douro region and an exclusive show by Ernest W. Baker [1].
International Profiling
As part of the international strategy, Portuguese designers will undertake an international tour, with shows in Milan on 23 June and in Paris on 24 June, with designers such as David Catalán, Miguel Vieira, and Ernest W. Baker participating [1].
